Los Angeles Yellow Car #1318

Car # 1318 is a narrow gauge “H” Class car from the Los Angeles Railways.

The term “Yellow” Car distinguished the painted yellow cars of the LA city streetcar system from the “Red Cars” of the interurban Pacific Electric.

It is considered a typical California-type car, with open-end sections and an enclosed middle section for rare rainy or cold days in sunny southern California.

The “H” Class cars, numbered 1201-1450, were the first steel cars in the LA Rwy fleet. LA has returned to its past transit with three Light Rail lines and a subway. The Blue Line follows the right-of-way of a former Red Car line to Long Beach.
